Lifetime Warranty (Limited)
Explanation and Conditions
Definition of “Lifetime”
Our “lifetime warranty” does not refer to the lifetime of the original purchaser or an unlimited coverage period.
Instead, it applies to the useful life of the product: that is, as long as we stock and support the specific model and can supply components or suitable replacements.
Warranty coverage ends when the product is discontinued, becomes obsolete or can no longer be supported due to a lack of stock or parts.
Scope of
coverage
Our lifetime warranty covers hardware failures caused by manufacturing defects under normal use, on network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points and controllers, servers and storage) and on Innova Optical Transceivers.
Power supplies, fans, optics of other brands, cables (including DAC), accessories and spare parts carry a 12-month warranty from delivery.
The warranty does not cover:
- Accidental or physical damage
- Abuse, misuse or improper installation
- Cosmetic issues (such as scratches, dents or discolouration)
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by power surges, lightning, incorrect input voltage, fire, liquid or other environmental factors
- Units that have been opened, or whose serial numbers, labels or seals have been removed or altered
Warranty
handling
If a covered product shows a qualifying defect, we will, at our sole discretion, repair it or replace it with the same or an equivalent model, based on available stock.
If we no longer have the item or a suitable replacement available, we may credit the price paid instead, after which warranty coverage for that product ends.
To make a claim we need: the invoice or order number; the serial number with a photo of the label; a description of the fault with diagnostic output where the device provides it (for example show environment, show logging or show interface transceiver); and, for power supplies and optics, confirmation that the fault stays with the unit when it is moved to another slot or device.
We decide on the claim after inspecting the returned unit. Units that show signs of an excluded cause, or in which no fault is found, are sent back at the customer's cost.
Exclusions and Reservations
Our liability under the lifetime warranty is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the covered product or, at our choice, a credit of the price paid.
We are not responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of use, business income or data.
Please refer to our general terms and conditions; processes and warranty periods may vary. We encourage our customers to always request written confirmation of warranty details and to carefully review any exclusions or limitations.
